Pasta (I may never actually have to buy pasta
again, people keep leaving it behind)
I made a tasty risotto with the rice and bought some leeks
to go with it. The only downside was that the chicken stock came out a little
salty, but it was still good (it just took forever to make). I also used the
last of my pesto to make broccoli green bean pesto pasta.
When I went to Manly on Tuesday I succumbed to a candy store
and bought some funky chocolates with honeycomb, coconut, and macadamia nut
brittle. I also tried a “fish cocktail” at the fish and chip shop, which turned
out to be a good chunk of fried fish for only a AU$1.50.
Then on Thursday I went to get ice cream with Ting, a
Taiwanese girl at the hostel. It was such a good place, I wanted to try everything!
I tasted the poached figs in marsala flavor, which was really good, but in the
end I had to go with pear and rhubarb. I want to go back to try the other
flavours…
I made an awesome curry Sunday night using the chick peas, carrots, potatoes, and my supply of curry powder that I found early on. It was particularly tasty with yoghurt and raisins, and I've been eating it all this week - yum!
