Shopping List Week 2

As a related aside, there’s a British cooking show about cooking meals in 15 minutes (although I don’t think they count cleaning the food processor) that is pretty entertaining (and drool-inducing) mostly because the guy thinks that everything is fantastic, or gorgeous, or something else exciting, but it always makes me want to cook fancy meals, even though I can’t really…

1.       Corn thins!
2.       Cheese
3.       Mixed salad
4.       Salad dressing (getting fancy here)
5.       Can of mixed beans
6.       2 mangoes (2 for $4, which is pretty good, and sooooo tasty!)
7.       Bananas
8.       Yoghurt
9.       Trail mix
10.   Chicken soup mix (because I have a cold)
11.   Potatoes
12.   Carrots
13.   Peanut butter (it was on sale, plus I am clearly a squirrel so I spoon it out)
14.   Licorice (had to break down and get some after Halloween)
15.   Honey tea
16.   Walnuts

Acquired:
1.       Rice (which I won’t eat unless there’s something to go with it)
2.       Onion
3.       More oatmeal
4.       The King’s Cross hostel had cinnamon, curry, and sugar, which worked well with the oatmeal and soup
5.       Pasta
6.       Rice thins (score!)
7.       Cinnamon!
8.       Mint tea
9.       Mixed dried herbs
10.   Curry (hot)
11.   A few Tim Tams!

I used a dash of “free” milk to make garlic mashed potatoes, and found some oil to saute onions, garlic, and carrots and make a peanut sauce to go with the rice (my fanciest meal yet, which was really tasty). I also bought a foot-long at Subway for my Blue Mountains trek, and an ice cream at the end of it.
